We all know that choosing to take self-defense is one of many ways to take care of ourselves. Our school’s mission states " To Empower All People so we may ahve a more peaceful community and planet, guides both our self-defense classes and our martial arts training. We now offer this class to boys/vulnerable men too!
- In the Five Fingers of Self Defense & Empowerment Series you will learn:
Mind - To use your mind to assess, trust your intuition, practice awareness drills, stay centered, think through choices and options, plan, etc.
Voice - To use verbal and non-verbal communication skills to de-escalate a situation, give clear commands, set boundaries, distract, etc.Escape - Many different ways to re-position/escape from grabs, inappropriate touch, how to shift/balance/re-redirect energy, etc.Fight - The natural weapons and targets on everyone's body. Learn how to respond, if necessary, when on your feet or the ground.Tell - To tell your story, give descriptions, discuss strategies, honor the past stories of women, celebrate present moment victories and success, to look forward to ongoing health and wellness. The Five Fingers of Self-Defense & Empowerment is a curriculum that emphasizes trusting your intuition, deepening your awareness, addressing scenarios and situations that range from irritating to life-threatening, understanding the natural weapons and targets that everyone’s body has, as well as sharing a wide range of resources for advocacy, education, healing and self-care. Cost is $100 for the Series of THREE CLASSES (no charge for enrolled FEMA students) If you missed a session-Make up is $40 per class- YOU MUST TAKE ALL THREE CLASSES to get a completion certificate.

Schedule a SPECIAL SD SEMINAR Just for You and Your Group Cost for group seminars at FEMA is $150 minimum for 1-10 participants, and $15 per person from 11-25 participants. Cost for community self-defense courses outside of FEMA is $300-500 for non-profit organizations or $500-800 for corportations. There is a $50 non-refundable deposit.
